Syn: Clitocybe deceptiva  H.E. Bigelow (1982)

This is one of the easiest Clitocybe species to distinguish -- the watery colors and strong sweetish anise odor set it apart. At one time there was an extra species manufactured in Western North America -- Clitocybe deceptiva Bigelow, but as described at the time, it's separation from fragrans was very weak and it has been synonymized. back.
