| These collections represent a cluster of 2-3 fairly common, but undescribed Gymnopus species with certain affinity to the much smaller Gymnopus villosipes. Prof. Desjardin (SFSU) with whom I have discussed these collections is well aware of them and the need for more work to define just how many species are involved and eventually to describe them. Apparently. the Gymnopus book is too thin to deal with all of the material from Western North America. | |
