This is one more Western American Gymnopus species that appears to be undescribed. Certain affinity to Gymnopus subpruinosus can be drawn, but microscopically they differ. The cap is distinctly  radially hygrophanous almost to the disk, but is not wrinkled, nor translucently striate.
