| This is one of the red stemmed Gymnopus species that have a caespitose habit. Most frequently they are depicted in very dense clusters of several tens of fruitbodies, but this fruiting habit is not always the case. Sometimes they are gregariously clustered... This is the species in the group with the smallest spores, which helps the identification. There is a similar red stemmed species that prefers broadleaved forests and has larger spores: Gymnopus erythropus. |
