Coprinellus micaceus  (Bull.) Vilgalys, Hopple & Jacq. Johnson (2001)

This Cosmopolitan ink cap is easy to recognize for the veil breaking into tine white granules that cover the cap. I have seen dense clusters in both North America and Europe.
