Cortinarius caesiifolius A.H. Sm. 1939                                               *Collections: Montana

Cortinarius caesiifolius is a member of the Anomali clade, but differs from most species in that group with its unpleasant odor and more broadly ellipsoid than subglobose spores.  This species appears to be more common in the broader PNW and northern Rockies. I have not seen it in California.

Spores: 6.3-8 (8.3) ×  5-6 µ
