Cortinarius dolabratus  Fr. (1838)                                           *Collection: Europe (Alpine habitat)

This is one of the most anonymous Telamonia one can encounter, but it still has its defining characteristics. The shiny, cylindrical stem with weakly developed ring of white veil; the pale, slightly eroded gill edges; and most of all a montane to alpine habitat narrow the choices quite much. The collection illustrated is from S.E. Europe, altitude 1800m, under Pinus heldreichii and Pinus peuce.
