This Telamonia is quite common in the cool, moist Spruce and Hemlock forests of the Pacific Northwest, typically amongst mosses. The primary distinguishing characteristic is the strong fragrant odor between pelargonium and cedar. The girdles of veil remnants on the stipe are quite distinctive too, but not limited to this species only. The  varieties flexipes and flabellus have been recognized based on the degree of scaliness of the pileus. I have seen the true scaly form Cortinarius flexipes var. flexipes in Scandinavia.

Some scaliness on the pileus would indicate var. flexipes... Spores: 7-8x4.5-5.4µ (most collections)
