Cortinarius glaucocephalus  M.M. Moser, Ammirati & Halling 2000                *California

This rare Phlegmacium appears in coastal woods from Mendocino to Santa Cruz. It can easily be confused for the bluer forms of C. glaucopus, but they are not closely related. This species has the distinctly small, citriform spores seen in members of its remote clade and other Western American Phlegmacia, which do not seem to have close European siblings.

Spores: 8-9 x 4-5µ  distinctly citriform
