| Cortinarius pseudoglaucopus can be abundant in montane conifer forests. It is somewhat similar in appearance to Cortinarius glaucopus, but differs by the dramatically larger and differently shaped spores. Based on traditional morphological analysis, some authors placed it in Section Glaucopodes and others in Calochroi. Now we can see that genetically it forms a well defined clade within the larger Calochroid super-clade with several similar species in Europe and North America. | |||
