This small orangish Cort is one of the most unusual in the Genus -- it lacks veil! In the past its position within Genus  Cortinarius had been questioned.  According to Karl. Soop,  Gymnopilus terrestris Hesler (1969) is a synonym.

Spores: 6.2-7x4.5-5.7µ    mostly subglobose
