Chroogomphus loculatus Trappe & Miller

An interesting species, endemic to Oregon. It's habit is almost hypogeous. The gills look quite warped and tend to anastomose irregularly. According to O. Miller, based on molecular research, this one is at most a variety of C. tomentosus [Ref 1].
