Hebeloma DB6682 (aff. theobrominum)                             *Collections: California

This Hebeloma species is relatively frequent in the Bay Area in mixed Live Oak and Pine woods. It stands out with its brick colored cap, covered by thick white bloom. A couple of sequences were generated from local material and they were found to be close to the European H. theobrominum (which looks very similar on pictures), but not the same.
