Hygrophorus brunneus  Largent (1985)

In the absence of a photograph accompanying the original description, or any other visual artifacts, I believe that this is the interpretation of Largent's Hygrophorus brunneus from California. This collection is from Tilden Park in mixed Oak, Pine and Douglas Fir habitat.
