Lactarius deliciosus  (L.) Gray (1821)                                                                  *Collections: Europe

This European collection of Lactarius deliciosus is a bit paler than most other depictions, but features the strongly zonate cap and scrobiculate stipe, which is missing in the fairly similar Lactarius deterrimus. Lactarius deliciosus is believed to be associated mainly with Pines. Compare to the undescribed species from Western North America, which also goes by the name Lactarius deliciosus sensu auct. amer.
