Lepiota neophana  Morgan (1906)

This tiny Lepiotaceous fungi appears occasionally early in the season, mainly under California Bay  (Umbellularia californica), but probably not limited to it. Due to it's small size it can easily be missed and stepped on. The light whitish colors contrast nicely against the darker forest leaf litter. The combination of non-dextrinoid spores and hymeniderm pileipellis set thiis species apart.

Spores: 4-6x2.8-3.3  NOT-DEXTRINOID
