Micromphale foetidum (Sowerby) Singer (1951) *Collection: Bulgaria
This species is remarkable for its foul odor. It is very, very similar to the stinky Gymnopus brassicolens, but tends to grow directly on rotten wood and in many cases one can see long protruding rhizomorphs. Additionally, the stipe doesn't seem to be split in two like G. brassicolens. This species is not known from California. |
