Russula fragrantissima Romagn. (1967) *Collections: California and Oregon
![]() |
This species is abundant in the Northern Coastal forests of California and the PNW where it tends to fruit earlier in the season. As the name suggests it has a strong fragrance of almonds. It frequently is misidentified as Russula laurocerasi, which can be separated on account of its uniquely shaped spores. |
