Russula laurocerasi
Melzer, (1920)
*Collections: Eastern North America
Current Name: Russula grata
This species is very similar to Russula fragrantissima and has the same almond fragrance. I couldn't tell them apart if it weren't for the spore differences. The distinctly ornamented spores with protruding wings are the most interesting part of this species. This species is fairly common in Eastern North America and while listed from California, I've never collected it there. | ||
