Generally listed as rare, this species
is locally common under Oak in a couple of sub-montane areas in Bulgaria.
It is fairly close to several other taxa in Section Griseinae
with similarly smallish spores and low ornamentation. Russula
subterfurcata tends to be paler when young, does react quickly
pinkish with FeSO4 and has
slightly more ornamented spores with some connectives. |
