This interesting Tricholoma
seems to be indigenous to Oregon. Its most distinguishing features are the
eroded gills with blackish edges that leave dark blackish squamules on the
upper stem at times. These collections are from the Oregon Sand Dunes under
Lodgepole Pine (Pinus contorta), which so far is the only known host.
Its closest species seems to be T. luteomaculosum in stirps
Luteomaculosum with which they share the same
pseudoparenchymatous hypodermium |
