Xerocomus dryophilus (Thiers) Singer

This distinct red-capped and red-footed Xerocomus loves Oaks (as the name suggest). In Northern California it appears occasionally under Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia). Originally described by Thiers this species seems to be widespread in the Northern Hemisphere.
