Suillus caerulescens Smith & Thiers (1964) *Collections: Calfiornia
This species is a staple of the coastal forests of Northern California. It is by far the most abundant Suillus in the area and thought to be associated with Douglas Fir. I see it fruiting from November to as late as June. Similar species, but with a distinct thick, orange belt on the stipe is Suillus ponderosus. | ||
